Experiment with different fishing methods, like fly fishing, spinning and worm fishing to get a good catch at the Castleconnell salmon fishery on River Shannon.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Millbank House located on the banks of the Mulcair River in the Shannon Region. It was built in 1733 by the Keays family and is one of Ireland’s most famous fishing houses, offering professional services on site. Millbank House provides a relaxed atmosphere and offers all modern comforts to fishing enthusiasts. You are at leisure for the rest of the day. Spend the night in the house.
Day 2
Go pike fishing by boat on the lakes dotting the East Clare region. This unspoilt, peaceful part of the countryside is a popular angling area with fishing enthusiasts. The area is most popular for pike and coarse fishing with abundant stocks of pike, bream, tench, rudd, roach and perch in most waters. The waters are easily accessible with car parking close by and purpose-built fishing stands erected on some lakes to enable comfortable fishing. After a day long session of pike fishing, return to Millbank House for the night.
Day 3
Visit the Castleconnell Salmon Fishery located on the River Shannon near the quaint village of Castleconnell, north of Limerick City. This world famous salmon fishery is divided into 8 beats, each about 800 metres long, with 3 rods to a beat. Fly fishing, spinning and worm fishing are the allowed methods by the fishery. Castleconnell is an important spring fishery which can provide good fishing from mid-March to mid-May. Enjoy salmon fishing and return to Millbank House for the night.
Day 4
In the morning, visit the Mulcair River considered one of the finest salmon fisheries in the Shannon region. March is the best time to go salmon fishing. You can also fish for small brown trout on the upper stretches of the Bilboa River. After fishing for salmon and trout, return to Millbank House for the night.
Day 5
Enjoy fishing on the Mulcair River. Return to Millbank House for the night.
Day 6
Take a fishing trip to Newport River, ideal for salmon fishing. It gets a good run of spring salmon right from the start of the season and can produce 3-4 salmon on the opening day. The river twists and turns through rough pasture, bog and woodland and has well maintained banks with bridges (it is not necessary to wade). It has at least 24 pools and can easily take 8 or 10 rods per day. After a day of fishing, return to Millbank House for the night.
Day 7
After breakfast, depart from Millbank House and proceed to your onward destination.
